This party never stops, Robbie - - come on in and have a swizzle or two!
That is not kite string on the cactus - - it grows that stuff as a means of reducing evaporation. It is a desert adaptation. Google "old man cactus" for more on the subject.
Hey am I too late for a swizzle PPM? I have never seen anything like this, looks like a bunch of white kite string got tangled in your cactus. Cool puzzle, thanks.
Alas, Hanne, this is a dying blossom. I didn't notice that the plant was blooming until too late. But I'll watch the cactus closely for a while in case in blooms again, in which case I'll be sure to take its picture!
