Those big old tiddly-winks are smiling at me!
I'm glad you mention that point, Pat, because it is a source of frustration for many Bama fans that perceptions and stereotypes remain about the university. In fact, our current administration including the head coach place the greatest emphasis on academics and graduation - the graduation rate among the athletes has grown at an exponential rate over the past decade. The university as a whole has led the nation in academic all-Americans several times recently, beating Harvard, ND and all (that's pure academics, not just the athletes)! I love opportunities to share info like - hopefully broadens and enriches perceptions and perspectives! :-)))
Yup--number one on my puzzle is Mandy, if she chooses to solve it, 99% of the time! Sorry, Kathy! I saw that "ahem", and my vision blurred...LOL! And, while I didn't become a Notre Dame fan in utero, I learned to love the team from an early age. And I have to admire a college that values learning more than sports, and doesn't let the football players coast by with lame courses or fake grades. I'm not saying your team does--I'm talking about the vast majority of colleges with high-ranked teams. Notre Dame is one of the best at graduating a class of educated students, rather than a class of future sports stars with a meaningless degree...
I'm flattered you mixed me up with Mandy - it's because of my position on the leaderboard, I suppose:-))) -- Or maybe the rivalry thing (would Lela say 'thingy'?) threw you off!
Thanks PJ and, well, sort of, I guess, just to be polite, Mandy...! I'm sorry people see tears or hidden sadness, because I wasn't trying to show any of that, just a silly smiling funambulist! (I looked up synonyms for "clown", and that was one they listed--can it be a real word?! I hope so--I love it! LOL!).
Ahem!...It's my revenge for your Notre Dame cheer, Ms Pat!Again, I say, Roll Tide!!(Great puzzle, by the way!)
Pat - yes this is a wonderful, happy puzzle. I like the joyful smiling clown. As for tears underneath - yes, but smiling to each other does brighten things up....PJ
Are you channeling the song "Tears of a clown", Lela? LOL! Thanks, Lela, Katie, and Ardy--I hadn't intended to draw a clown, but the finished puzzle, which was all colored-in without any black, looked bland, so I tried adding black in a few places to liven it up. This was the version I liked best, and it wasn't until I posted it that I noticed the resemblance!
Love this one. Such a happy face and happy colors. Thanks for the happiness and joy you bring to so many. I hope that at least some of it comes back to you.
This IS a happy design Pat! As to Lela's opinion...if you make the effort to look happy, before you know it you'll feel happy!
Of course, he LOOKS happy.......but underneath........
Thanks so much, barsidelady and Jana! :-)))
Very nice, thank you
Lovely puzzle, thank you
