Thanks for all the interesting comments. Looks like not all the recollections were favorable! Ya gotta be thankful for all those who will take on the teaching of any and all, even when week after week the teacher can tell that on the part of some there has been no practicing! (Except for the curtsey and she STILL didn't get it right.)
English Country Garden! (Before I looked at the comments!) Mrs. Johnson would make me play it over and over and over and over again before my recital. Then we (I) would practice my curtsey for 10 minutes. Never did get that right!
Had to learn to play this one on the piano before quitting in the 8th grade to pursue the instruments with strings. (Little did I know at the time that I should have kept up both!)
Why, thank you, oddioman. . . hadn't thought about those dang red Thompson piano lesson books since I was 9-10 years old. Now I have a headache from trying to remember back that far! You a very funny person, I'll be humming Country Gardens all evening :))))
When I was 10 years old, my mama gave me piano lessons for 6 weeks until she found out I was going in the front door of the music teacher's house and out the back door to play at the creek for the hour....hence, I don't read music, so haven't a clue................
English Country Garden :)
:>) I'll bet you are correct, HenrikBM. That title, translated, is similar to the title of this old English folk song....
