We really missed you, Gene! Come to St Louis soon!!
Beautiful butterfly and flower lauraj.....I am so glad you had such a great time with the other friends from jigidi, wish I could have been there but soon I am going to make it to St.Louis area and to the Botanical Garden :)))))
Yes, I was. It was a pleasure for me. It fell to me by default, as I live in the St Louis area. Pumpkin and her husband were passing through Illinois en route to Arkansas, so we built the gathering around those days they would be here. We wanted to do something fun together so I suggested the Orchid show at the Missouri Botanical Garden. It turned out to be even more amazing than I thought it would be. The orchids were spectacular, plus we got to photograph in two other buildings: The Climatron and The Temperate House. Each had their own unique plants and flowers. This past weekend I went to the Butterfly House. I wanted to take the gathering there, too, but our day in St Louis was a Monday and the Butterfly House is closed on Mondays.
Ooh! So pretty LJ! Great photo! I just figured out -- you must have been the host for the gathering of jigidi folk who went down for the orchid show?
Thanks, Robyn and PG. There was one main kind of butterfly, with different ones flying by every so often.
A beautiful butterfly in the butterfly house who would have thunked? Nice one LJ.
That's a beautiful photo Laura - thanks!!
Thanks Graci, chickie, morris and snooker. I love hearing from you guys!
The red flowers show him off perfectly.
Very pretty Laura.
Beautiful set Laura! thanks
You can't believe how many butterflies are in this relatively small space. You bump into them on every turn. Most were large and were blue when their wings were open. When they were closed the butterfly was a mottled brown. I tried to take photos of them swirling all around, but they didn't come out. You couldn't see them against all the tropical foliage. I tried to take photos of some of the more unusual butterflies there. Thank you, Lyndee.
He's a beautiful thing that's for sure. Nice shot Laura.
Thank you, Lorna, tex and Patti!
What a beautiful set! The butterflies have good taste in flowers!!! Thank you Laura!
And a beautiful butterfly too. Thanks.
Great photo Laura!
