New Year's eve fireworks are small and not here on the water. The water ones are Independence Day (July 4) and Rose Festival time (First part of June) and sometimes for a Festival that is held on the waterfront (varies). It is often a surprise when we get a light show for half an hour!
So, we'll plan on you visiting on July 4 - for the best show! :D
I adore fireworks, so I would love to stay with you when some of them are due :)), do you also have big fireworks on New Year's Eve, like they do in Germany? Here in Spain, they make a lot of noise with firecrackers but little fireworks are to be seen.
Hi Dagmar - the little patch of river you see in the upper left is where they set off all the fireworks displays for bit events. You can see why we have a great view! I know this isn't everyone's "cup of tea," but we love it! . . . at least for now.
I suppose the view was one of the reasons why you bought your home, it is really beautiful, the mixture of autumn colours are marvellous and I suppose in a few hours you will be looking out of your window to see what 's the weather like to day. According to the weather forcast it should be sunny with some clouds. :))
Now I must run my morning is running away and I haven't done anything useful yet. LOL
Ardy - The water is the Willamette River. It runs north and south off of the Columbia. I am on a hill right next to the river. Portland is a very pet friendly city and dogs are allowed in many places!
Jan, How beautiful. Wow you're really up high. I'm guessing that dogs are allowed in the elevators. What is the water I can see? Thanks for sharing this. No wonder you had such a great view of fireworks on the 4th of July!!
JC, I went out on the deck one afternoon and this is what I saw. I got lucky! And, we do love our view. Isn't it funny the variety of perspectives we have on Jigidi - - and all of them beautiful!
