RJ, have picked up your comments on the other puzzle :)
Oh, no worries Lady C.
RJ, thanks for your comment on the other puzzle
Thanks Aggie. Even though they were English they sounded extremely successful. Their history made them look pretty global and the song very well-known but hey, you can't win them all and yesterday was a hard act to follow. Thank goodness LordElpus was around to help me out. Squishy is posting tomorrow. :))
Good morning ladyc and fellow DYRer's and visitors today. As I've said to starlord many a time not too familiar with me. Congrats to LordElpus on solving this one. Great job too ladyc on your selection.
Morning Starlord! Got your swimming gear on?
Distant greetings to all. Can't solve the puzzle a s I got a small screen on the smartphone. Wouldn't have gotten this band for sure. Well done Elp :-)
Neville - I laughed about 'she always claims she knows everything'I hope the swelling has gone down by tomorrow's DYR!
The Ninja has gone to work - equalled the Major already.
Good on you RetiredJan. You clocked that extra second on me and now I cannot seem to pick it up.
I found them on Google, squishy, but they are too new for my old Bibles. Should have asked the Missus first - she always claims she knows everything.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/THUMPERStold you they were obscure!!
Also RJ, if you have a FB account, you can send me a private message :o)
Rummage in your Gideon's Neville - they are pretty obscure I think.
Thanks so much.
Thumpers, squishy? You really are pulling my white cottontail.
The av was a huge clue, MajorDon.
There is a band called Thumpers, Neville!!
I can leave you my email address under another puzzle Jan :)
wow Neville - how do you do it - that's spooky
I've got tomorrow's answer squishy. It's got to be Eddie Rabbit........
Thanks ladyc - I promise it won't be as obscure as my last one!!
Please forgive my ignorance, Lady C, but how exactly do I contact you without giving the game away to all our friends here?
Unfortunately, lady c, though I have very-vaguely heard of Cutting Crew, they never made it out here in Oz. In fact, none of my three Ji-Gideons mentions them at all. Which is a shame, as the song (I Just) Died In Your Arms Tonight is a truly superb track - I love it, for all of the one times that I have heard it. But I will be playing it many times over tonight.
Well that's fine Jan, thank you. If you have an idea for dyr and would like me to post it for you, I can do that too. However, Squishy has volunteered and would like to post tomorrow so don't forget to tune in at the same time for her choice of Do You Remember :o)
No thanks, Lady C, I wouldn't know where to start! Hey, Neville, you've been sharpening that digit again - I can't catch you tonight!
Here is one of their famous trackshttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IcE2TrvMrB0Anyone else like to post DYR tomorrow ?
Well done LordElpus!
looks like you won't get 10 stars today though :(
It is Cutting Crew LordElpus, and thank you for helping me out today. Take a bow to a round of applause :)))))
Is it Cutting Crew Lady Charnley?
Are you rummaging through your Gideon's Neville ?
At least it wasn't a crew cut - Yuck!
I don't like the extreme mullets you see nowadays - the ones with the shaved sides for example. I always liked long hair on men though - like the 60's/ 70's hippy style. My son had a short back and sides recently - I cried.
Hi Jan, not the Smiths today no, sorry.
Just think 4 hairdressers
Hello everyone! Is it The Smiths? (Not that I've ever heard of them!)
Major Don has left a major clue :)
Yes Neville - hope you had a good day at work. So are you going to have a guess at the group before you have your tea ?
Good morning lady c, Sissel, squishy, MajorDon and all starlord fans. I didn't recognise them so concentrated on the Leaderboard. Sissel is up there with the Major & myself too, but chookies is amazing. She's given you something to chase again, lady c.
Rather unflattering the mullett Squishy :o)
Neville is matching you on the leaderboard Major
I just read the the mullet hairstyle of the 70's+, actually originated in ancient times.
Where are the Australian guesses this morning/evening? They had a no.1 in the UK, US, France Norway and a No8 in Australia
Good evening Neville and Jan - turbo mouse this morning Neville :)))
oh - sorry - the penny has just dropped - well it is only Monday :)))
you can't see a connection with Haircut 100 and their name?I didn't mean they are a barber's shop quartet :)
I didn't know about a connection with Haircut 100 Major and I had to just google Kazoo :))))
They are English and were formed in 1985/86
I see a connection with Haircut 100....and the lead singer had the loudest kazoo in Europe
Morning Major Don and morning Squishy - thought you might know them Squishy :))
Morning / Evening all! Haircuts 1980's!! I recognize this band, ladyc. But I won't spill the beans.
Good morning everyone around the globe
Good Morning Sissel :)))
Good morning Lady and other DYR friends :-)have no idea :-(
