This was taken in Santa Cruz, Ca. outside a restaurant. This is a watermelon, grapefruit, and a white radish.

Wow, now there's some talent. My fruit would rot before I got it right.

I think your right Michelle. I think it was a giant lemon. not a grapefruit.

Yes, Dave, the white edges on the watermelon (yellow on what looks to be a lemon?) are the rind. There is quite an art to fruit/vegetable carving known to the Japanese as Mukimono. I've seen some beautiful works in Thai restaurants, as well. Thanks for sharing these...

Har-de-har,PG, Har-de-har! Hey maybe in Calif. they do.

With a knife Warbler. They don't grow like that do they?

warbler

I don't know how they do it for sure Laura. And are the white edges of the petals from the rind? Good planning if so.

The mushy inside of the watermelon must have been very difficult to do. Maybe it was frozen first?

Thanks Chickie. I'm not the talented one but I bet PG could do it, doncha think?

Thanks Cindy I think I did a cool flower swirl of yours last night.
