This Smooth Aster is an Illinois native that typically occurs in prairies, rocky glades, dry open woods, roadside banks and thickets. Stems are usually unbranched with variable, mostly toothed, smooth, bluish green foliage. Small flowers (.75 to 1.25" across) with violet blue to purple (sometimes white) rays and yellow center disks appear in open, loose, panicle-like clusters in autumn. Attractive to butterflies. Taken Sun, Sept 22, 2013 in Litchfield, IL.

Glad you liked these Lyndee. And glad you liked the video. It was amazing!

I know some may call them weeds, but they are pretty flowers, right Sunny Barb?

No, Morris, not the same. I answered you on your puzzle.

Very pretty, Laura! Are they the same as these? Because I have quite a few in my yard this year.
