Thanks for explaining the footy/soccer to Mandy, whattie. How could I possibly not give you the answers? You might have sent me your excess snow if I hadn't LOL. I wondered if you'd know about rounders as it appears to be a mostly Brit thing. It's not played in the former colony here. Do you blokes have it?

No worries, Mandy. Dear whattie has explained the football/soccer part most succinctly. Basketball and volleyball have some similarities but they are separate sports. It's easy enough to confuse the rounders and baseball balls - they do look much the same and they're not to scale. Being a one-eyed cricket fan I can spot a cherry a mile away :-) I've played Bocce a couple of times - it's quite good fun. Jai alai is too active for my old bones!

Monza, US football is more like your rugby and what you call football, the US calls soccer.

Foxy, I'm so glad you provided the answers - there were a few games that I've never heard of.

Ah, thanks Chrissie... I see my mistakes!! In the UK footballs are round round... I didn't realise they are oval in the US! I thought the basketball was a volleyball... are they one and the same? I also got baseball, cricket and rounders mixed up!! In the end I only got 11 right! I've never heard of Jai alai or Bocce.. I'm off to look them up!! This was a lot of fun, thanks for doing it! :~)

Thanks, whattie. Wait no longer :-)

Thanks, Mandy. The oval balls have a name on them... the "F" is for football... hint, hint LOL. One on the bottom row is quintessentially British... and I don't mean the red one :-)

cool balls - so colourful!

What a lovely idea, Chrissie. I think I know about 19 of these... but seeing 3 different oval ones has thrown me... I only know one game with an oval ball!! -Popular in the UK. Thanks for putting this one together, and I will be looking for the answers!!
