Wonderful picture!! Thank you Starlord.

puzzeljac

Very beautiful and I liked to read about the history.

So much history here. Thank you very much. I love history, especially of ancient things like this castle.

starlord

55 mph?
I'll do some waterskiing then. :-)

pkin38

Nope i have to much to do getting ready... I can't believe I go in 3 weeks... I would love to get you down there on a tube behind the boat.... I would say faster ..faster.. you know our boat will go 55 mph.. Oh would I have fun.

starlord

I do not understand the word 'refuse' :-)
So if you would be so kind as to clean it before your holiday, I would be much obliged.

pkin38

Good morning Sir Wizard Starlord .. You can quit pounding the chest now.. and I refuse to clean this one...to much work for this old girl...

starlord

I'll post another puzzle under my other nick for Squishy and Amazonia.
Just want to make their day... :-)

Amazonia1805

And a Scotsman (Sean Connery) as an Egyptian born Spaniard! One of my favourite films. Got to agree with you squishy, Lambert was my schoolgirl crush! Lol. ; )

squishy2

It was the long hair that sealed the deal. And the kilt. And a Frenchman trying to do a Scottish accent - sigh!!!

starlord

Was he now? :-)
Didn't notice it...

squishy2

Never mind, Starlord. There can be only one, after all. Oh Christopher Lambert was soooooo handsome in this film.

starlord

Sorry Amazonia, second comment must have crossed :-)
Thanks for the additional info on the Mull.
Awww, poor guy. Because he didn't die, he had to leave the village. It's been so long ago, that I don't even remember that shot. (must be my age, shhhhh)
The possibilities of computers are limitless, Bentley....

bentleyd

Yes you are correct, always think its a facade and nothing at the back and now days computer
stuff.

squishy2

It's near the beginning of the film, when the people are throwing him out of the village because he didn't die in battle. They were on the bridge.

starlord

@ Bentley: indeed it's a song by Paul McCartney...
Thanks for the additional information, Amazonia and Squishy. You know, the problem with movies is always: is this real or is it a computer animated background.
I have seen Highlander, but the castle must have gone by unnoticed :-(

Amazonia1805

Paul McCartney (and Wings) 1977.
The actual Mull of Kintyre is the south-western most tip of the Kintyre Peninsula in south-west Scotland. County Antrim (Northern Ireland) is visible from there. A lighthouse has been there since 1788. ; )

Amazonia1805

It's Eilean Donan Castle on Loch Duich in the western Highlands of Scotland.
Eilean Donan means "island of Donnán" after Donnán of Eigg, an Irish Celtic saint martyred in 617. It's believed Donnán established an early christian monastic cell on the island, though no trace of it remains.
The castle was founded in the 13th C + became a stronghold of the Clan Mackenzie + their allies the Clan Macrae. In the early 18th C the Mackenzies were involved in the Jacobite rebellions, which led to the castle's destruction by government ships in 1719.
The buildings we see now are the result of 20th C restoration/reconstruction of the ruins by Lieutenant-Colonel John Macrae-Gilstrap.
It has been used in many movies + such. I've been a couple of times, it's a beautiful area. The Highlands of Scotland are breathtaking. ; )

squishy2

Beautiful. Is this Eilean Donan Castle? It was used in the film Highlander.

bentleyd

lol sorry bagpipes, my eyes are hardly open yet....good excuse:-)))
It may be the Mull of Kintyre...wasn't there a song with that title?

starlord

Could this be the famous 'Mull of Kintyre'? :-)
Are the bagpies still in the oven? :-) Sorry, couldn't resist :-)))

bentleyd

I love this one, can almost hear the bagpies playing:-))
