Were this chapel and the St. Rose Convent designed by the same architect? Do you know his name? These buildings are very impressive! I don't know anything about the history of La Crosse, WI but am assuming there was (and still is?) a major Catholic presence there. Someday I hope I'll get a chance to see these beautiful buildings up close.
Yes it is all brick, Lanty. The building in the background is part of the St. Rose Convent, of similar architecture. I'm going to post a picture of that pretty soon.
Is it all made of bricks? Can't tell but the color is right! Wow, what a piece of architecture-- and think how many bricks (if so) were used!
I love this chapel ... My husband is from LaCrosse and every time we go there I want to go and visit it ... and yes, I agree it is more like an exquisite cathedral ... so beautiful inside !!!! Thank you for sharing it with all of us this way.
what a great piece of art it is
Thanks for the comments.Yes, Toto, to me "chapel" suggested a little place for worship and meditation. This seems closer to "cathedral" for me! :>)
Gives all new meaning to the word chapel. Pretty imposing building.
I have no words Patti took them. Sorry oddio.
Took the words right out of my mouth, Patti :-)
Very impressive building!
