I love the wrought iron balconies. And still green trees!! But yes, I agree - French city architecture is the same all over. Not being biased, but London is so different. The City is cramped with tiny alley-ways and crooked streets (no 'roads' in the City of London),none of the wide boulevards you find in Paris. I don't think the street plan of London changed even after the devastation of the Blitz in WW2. But if you move the the West End of London where the big shopping areas are - Regents Street and Oxford Street, there are wide streets and regency crescents.
Yes, it looks very similar to me too, as an Aussie, as our oldest buildings are just over 200 years old. These are wonderful buildings to see, thanks Lyndee. Hugs Janet
You are welcome Lunie. ikook - I suppose because I have never spent any time in Europe, I find the European countries all look very much alike. The old buildings with lots of statues. We don't have that so much here. It is beautiful Warbler. I guess that is what makes it so unique.
You wrote somewhere that you couln't really distinguish the different countries you were in... this architecture does resemble that in Barcelona quite a bit...
