Oh what fun, roseheather! I still have my first very old dolls house too! It was such fun collecting for it so your story rekindled memories! so nice that you all collected for it and had fun with it as a family. I do remember the Skipper doll. I think we had a similar version here called Patch which was, I think, the Sindy doll's little sister.

Delightful, Niccolino.

What fun. Our daughter had a doll named "Skipper" sort of a Barbie, but not as "adult." Skipper had a male companion and I suggested my husband build a doll house for our daughter's doll family. We furnished it with things we found. WE used a wooden box that English Leather aftershave came in for a trunk. Had a small iron cook stove for the kitchen, and we found some other small furniture to help outfit the house. I think we used the top from the English Leather, upside down, for a seat or stand. I used some hand towels for rugs, and we wallpapered some of the walls using pieces from an old wallpaper book. It wasn't fancy or to scale but she had hours of fun with it. I found a link for Skipper but the image doesn't look like the one my daughter had/has: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skipper_%28Barbie%29
