pkin- It's a wonderful winter activety! We've taken all the grandkids (5) at different times over the last three years and they LOVE the fun of it. I'm hoping to get in a couple more trips this winter. It's a 100 mile drive (each way) to reach my fishin' "hole." (NPI) LOL
This brings to mind those marvelous grilled cheese sandwiches you posted last year while fishing! Did you have any of those melted gems while you were braving the cold?
Thanks to all who stopped by! puzzeljac- Yes, it's me with 3 layers of clothes on. (blushing) Mimi- Thanks go to my daughter-in-law for snapping this photo. She and my son's first ice fishing trip. ef- I did indeed throw him back. The fishing was bonkers,...tip ups popping up everywhere! Each fisherman is allowed 5 holes/tip ups in Idaho. We had 15 holes and the bite was on!! My dil brought a book intending to read while we were on the ice. She never opened the book, we were that busy tending to all the tip ups! Unforgettable day to be sure. (Ice was 12' thick) PLG- My ice shelter is not visible in this photo. It was cold, but,...NO wind. That can be the real problem. Rainbow Trout and Kokanee (trout species) Wonderful eating fish with pink flesh,...GREAT!
