All 3 of my rhododendrons died this summer. Me, who watered continually all summer long, regardless of the cost of water. Everything else is flourishing, though, thankfully.
Looks nice even if it is confused. :)
Did you catch a whiff of it lj? This summer was really hard on plants. I just realized my pee gee hydrangea didn't have a single bloom on it this year. And.... my azalea are getting a few flowers on them. Should be Spring. Nice shot.
There is a variety of lilac that blooms twice a year. My daughter gave me a bush for Mother's Day and I have enjoyed the second blooming. The flower clumps are not as big as a regular lilac, but the aroma is heavenly.
Wow that is a surprise!! You may have to give everything a good leaf cover this year before Winter.
Yes. That is why it is confused. Also, my little magnolia put out a few blooms and my surprise lilies are coming up again....much to my surprise.
Don't they usually flower in the Spring?
I just planted this lilac in the spring. He has had a rough summer with the blistering heat and drought. Now he's further shocked into blooming with the below-normal temps. Poor little bush.
The plants have all had a confusing year!
