willey, thanks for dropping in, we have relatives in Spokane and travel there a couple of times a year, and yes yes yes keep the greatness to ourselves.
I live in north east Washington about 10 miles from North Idaho. Y es it does blow in southern Idaho. North Idaho does not have that much wind, & the mountains are much more heavily forested, many more lakes & rivers, best skiing, hunting, fishing, & motor sports in the world, but don't tell anyone, we want to keep it all to oour selves.
Very beautiful.Merry Christmas from the Netherlands.
Perhaps the snow was deeper further along the road? March may be Spring but Mother Nature holds sway as always. I didn't know windy weather is the norm in ID... thought we'd chosen a poor day to travel through the state! Didn't see a lot with all the dust and then some heavy rain. Maybe next time we'll have better weather... if we don't blink too much :-)
This was taken last March, wanted to go for a ride but as you can see from the photo, the road was gated (?too much snow? road dept.)Yes foxymoron, the wind does like to blow here, you learn to keep everything tied down. And don't blink because the weather will change.
Glorious photograph! Thanks, pilley. We travelled though this area earlier this year on the way home to CA from Yellowstone. It was so windy I worried that half of ID would end up in WY!
Beautiful photo! I couldn't put my finger on the location. Thanks for identifying for us. (Snow here stopped, no big whoop... ;-) )
0829, thanks for dropping in, we are now getting snow, will send it your way, enjoy the holidays.
Merry Christmas from Utah. Naoma
This is Scout Mountain south of Pocatello and this is about what it looks like today, 37*F and looking like rain, keep the snow in Boise, okay?
