Why are you reporting this puzzle?

Well, I guess I'm not quite done with Whitby yet. I found this one for Plumpossum, since that is what drew her to my 'Whitby upper harbour and abbey ruins' puzzle. So here you go, Plum!

Interesting note: "Whitby Abbey was rendered famous in fiction by Bram Stoker's 1897 novel Dracula, as Dracula there came ashore as a creature resembling a large dog and proceeded to climb the 199 steps which lead up to the ruins." (Wikipedia)

Isn't it though? Thanks, Bill.

Lovely place to watch the sunset. Thanks, Andy!

Thanks Gayle! I figured you'd get around to doing the stroll. Nothing beats actually being 'there' (whatever place you might be talking about) and laying you hand on things, smelling the air and so on. But the Google Street View sure gives you a feel for a place that you might never get to see in person.

The walk around the Abbey grounds was delightful, Andy. Google Street View did an admirable job and I bet you could scratch it off our itinerary if it's too crowded. Fun!

dris651

Well Plum and Pat, I'm glad you went for a little stroll about the grounds. It is a neat old abbey, even if it is a ruin. But you get to 'walk' right through it!

Fun!

Plumpossum

Oh, that was super, Andy! Thanks!!!

dris651

Too funny Pat! Now, if anyone wants to try, you can get an up close and personal walkabout the abbey, courtesy of Google Street View. I hope this works - it's really neat!!!

Nice. And what's that structure off to our right that looks like an old fort, I wonder? If so it certainly wasn't successful in keeping the count at bay. Sorry, couldn't resist; I bet you're howling with laughter. No? Not good enough to sink your teeth into?

This setting strongly reminds me of Lyke Wake Dirge by the English traditional folk group, Pentangle. It is an amazing evocative vocal performance that really sets the mood:

And thank you, donbet, Plum and Gayle!

Wooooo. That background tidbit makes it kinda spooky. Nice puzzle; loved the sunny pieces. :-)

Plumpossum

Thanks, Andy. I'm endlessly flattered!

Love this one. The evening photography is amazingly eerie.
