You should be sitting here this morning mariolyn, what a difference! Very windy and lots of rain as she goes by!
Sure doesn't look like there's any trouble in the vicinity. Sneaky Leslie....
Thank you Celeste, Hanne and PK.
Hi yellow, if they were here a few years ago, they would not be comfortable on their scooters today. Lots of traffic and impatient drivers. The Island is still beautiful though.
Hi gem, you are talking about Somerset Bridge, the smallest drawbridge in the world and HMS Malabar in Dockyard where the huge cruise ships tie up now. That is the west end of the Island. From Dockyard you look down the north shore towards St. George's and St. David's and the airport which are on the eastern end and this photograph was taken yesterday.
Hi BJ, normally the outside walls every 5 years and our roofs every 3 years. It varies though, especially today with the high prices of paint and labour.
Hi Ank and JB, thank you.
This is so very beautiful. It does, indeed, look like a travel brochure photo. The sky is amazing. Thanks so much, Robbie!
Houses look so wonderful, how often do you have to paint them on the outside to keep it looking so good?
Is the eastern end the area of the now converted old naval dockyard...beyond the little bridge with the slot for the sailing masts to pass through?
We have friends that used to visit Bermuda every 2 years ; they would rent bicycles/ scooters (don't recall which) and bike from one end of the island to the island. They said it was a magical place, and thanks to your photos, we can see why. Thanks, Robbie & Jenny!
Beautiful, simply , looks so quiet and peaceful!! Thanks so very much Robbie!
Thank you Robbie
Great shot Robbie.
Thank you Shirley, we have to keep our roofs nice and clean, we collect all our fresh water on them and store it in a tank below our house. Between my parents and us, we have close to 60,000 gallons of fresh water storage so we never have a problem.
Your own little bit of Eden, Robbie, and yes, you are a very good ambassador. Thanks for the jig.
Robbie you are a great ambassador for your beautiful Bermuda, you should get paid for it mate, I was going to comment on the pristine condition of the buildings too, their roofs are so white, Thanks Robbie.
Hi SM, love your State. The water is beautiful due to the sandy bottom in the shallows and there is no organic waste so the water is clear and pure. Also the intensity of the sun hitting the surface helps create the blue.
Thanks LJ, yes our homes are colourful.
Hi healer, I was pointing away from the sun which helped.
Took the words right out of my mouth Laura, that sky is unbelievable.
The houses are colorful and the sky is a beautiful shade of blue.
In Vermont, where I live, the water is always darker than the sky. This looks so much more comfortable!
The lighthouse stands 208 feet above sea level and was built in 1879. It took three years to build the 55 foot high structure. This stands on the eastern point of Bermuda. The houses are so colourful and every one including the lighthouse looks like they were all painted recently!
