I agree, Laura. I hope that will turn around in the not-too-distant future.

I was just thinking how few monarchs I see. Sad.

PLG1958

Thank you Floyd. I couldn't agree more.

Excellent picture and find.
Let's hope we do not destroy what MOTHER NATURE has given us..

Thank you David, and of course I agree with your views on the environment. The earth is our collective home.

A lovely butterfly and one we don't get here. I know you are already aware of my views on the environment and pesticides etc, so won't say too much but I wish our stupid government would stop dithering and ban glyphosate now that it is proven to cause cancer.

PLG1958

Thank you Jacki, Beekay and Pat! I hope we will eventually see more of these as we back off our our use of pesticides, etc.

Beautiful ... They mowed all my milkweed down a year ago ... So I don't see very many around ...

Beekay

Very nice photo. Just saturated with color.
Haven't seen many here either unfortunately.

WOW. what a beautiful shot, patti. shirley is right about the milkweed. unfortunately and typically the latest pesticide being used wipes out the milkweed that usually grows at the edges of cornfields and the area in mexico they winter in has been reduced to only a few acres. breaks my heart. i don't see the western monarch much either. maybe i'll plant some milkweed next spring. thanks for sharing this beautiful shot and i hope i haven't bummed anyone else out.

Thank you Lunie!

Thank you Shirley! I used to see them a lot when I was a child. And milkweed too. Not as much these days.

Beautiful Monarch, Beautiful flowers, Brilliant picture, Thanks, Patti, we have them here, they say you will find Monarch butterflies where ever Milkweed grows.

Dilubreuer
