Yes this is in Galion, I have some very fond memories of this house and growing up down the street from it. My children get tired of hearing the stories...LOL... This was the first Carriage Makers house in Ohio, in the back was a huge garage where they made the carages.
LM: I was in Athens one time for a friends graduation, I don't remember much other than you could hear a lot of Locus....
Ohio has so many small towns, who knows maybe we are all related (my mom always told me to be careful who I dated when I was younger, she found out at a family reunion she had gone out with a cousin).....It's a small world we live in........

Gorgeous house is this in Galion ? ...

BTW, I loved doing this puzzle. I am an architect at heart and love beautiful buildings like this. You were really lucky to grow up down the block from it.

@gal61: Just want to make contact because I liked your comment on English101's "Welcome to Texas" puzzle. I also live in Arizona, down here in Cochise County. I was also born in Ohio, Nelsonville to be exact, while my dad was attending the university in Athens. We left there when he graduated in 1958 when I was not quite 2. Have never made it back except once when we drove through for some reason when I was 4.

The third floor has a room for the ladies to rest and powder their nose, in the center of the room is a stain glass in the floor, where a wood floor could be put over it for the band. (This was in cased in glass, a glass room) Their are doors around the outside to be able to go out onto the balcony (this was to get away and have privacy with your boe.) Their was glass on the roof so when the sun shined through and the floor was not over the stained glass, the light would shine through unto the second and first floor, or if the floor was over the stained glass their were lights that could be turned on. Their is a fireplace in every room. The second floor had an oval balcony, where you could see down onto the first floor, look up and you saw the stained glass.....Sorry I am going on & on, Blah Blah Blah, can you tell I miss the good old day's. (But not the snow.) LOL......

Robbiel

Hey gal61, great choice for your first puzzle! Nice yard to play in, a real sporty looking porch but too big for me. I would get scared living here!! Sent a pie through the triangle today, hope you get it!!

Beautiful house! I really like the porch and that little balcony on the top floor. Thanks gal61! :-))

PastorMike

I remember trick or treating hear as a child and the old lady that lived their would give out 5 pennies wrapped up. When she passed away, a man bought the house and restored it. The neighbor hood kids and I use to play Hide and seek inside while it was being restored. That would have been back in the 70's, boy how time flies........

buckeye425

gal61

I grew up down the street from this house....I have a lot of fond memories playing in the yard in the summer and throwing snowballs from the porch in the winter...LOL....
