Jaklien.
It is a good thing that there are lots of ways to travel. With an association, with a group, it is different, but the main thing is: save and fun, as you say.
And I do agree on another thing you mention: comfort. I like mine too! I have a caravan with a big kitchen, water closet, wash basin, central heating by gas!!, hot and cold water (yes I have to transport the water to the caravan or use a hose) a bed with electric movable bottom; television in whole of Europe; laptop/internet; electric and gas cooker / oven; ... so you see: it is a small house on wheels! I love having my own house around me wherever I am. Never a bed I don't like; or a too hot or too cold room; noisy neighbours. But as I said: long live the differences in travelling!!!

Jaklien

I go several times a year traveling with an association. Totally different tours, but safe and fun!
I also quite like home, do fully what I want, but miss my dear husband incredibly hard.
Camp I never have, I never will, I rather prefer my comfort. Sorry, on my age...

Really, honest, that bench never gets shade! The parasol is exactly in the north-north/west.

My husband wanted me very much to keep our (new!!) camper (camping-car) and use it. If I hadn't met the Campingclub for People-who-are-alone. We have a campsite-meeting each month, a long weekend, somewhere in the Netherlands. Normally with appr. 50 persons, each with a caravan, camping car or tent. 60% women and 40% men. It is NOT a dating club, but a club for socially meeting others that also want to go camping although they don't have a partner any more. From there on I made appointments with members to go on trips with 3 or 4 persons. Like I go to Spain in winter with 1 other lady and her own car, caravan. It is a great club to meet people and make friends. Or just acquantances that love camping too!
Last year I sold my camping-car and bought a car and caravan. That suits me better now.

I do agree with you on this: travelling all alone is hardly ever nice.
I know ladies (men) that don't agree on that, and are happy to travel alone, but I don't !!!
Perhaps you can go away with a group?? Or... just stay home and do what you like!!

Jaklien

I understand you completely Tracadie

There most be a time during the day, this bench got some shade...depends where the sun is... :)

Nice introduction of you on your profile Lia, seems like we know you even if we are living across the ocean! I lost my husband too 3 years ago, but I'm not able to travel without him...maybe it will come some day.... glad you're able ... the only place I'm ok is at work....so I'm working and when I get home, my 2 little dogs are waiting for me :) I love travel the planet with people who share there own pics like you! Thanks for sharing!

Jazeker!

Jaklien

Jij kan het allicht weten hé Lia ;-)

Lia

Funny thing is that the parasol, for shade, never gives shade onto the bench. For that it is standing in the wrong place. But perhaps the most important thing is that it looks good!!

Jaklien

Indeed, beautiful palm trees and a lovely bench to read your book. ☺♥
