I'm familiar with those microbursts. It probably caused you more damage than the 'caine. Glad it was okay.

We had some wind and some rain here, but not as much of either as I expected. Lots of small tree debris in the front yard and lots of moss, but all was well. I had just had my pool screen enclosure replaced from a microburst of bad weather about 2 weeks earlier (expensive even with insurance) and was so worried that it would be ripped up again. But we were quite lucky.

Ah sue, I see you know the area. Lots of wooden fencing went down. I'm glad FEMA came into the area. Thankfully, my damage was minimal, but I have neighbors who weren't as lucky.

Julie, my daughter and granddaughter are in Rockledge and Titusville. My daughter lost some back yard fencing and some guttering to Matthew, but that last minute "wobble" sure made the difference. Glad you were safe.

Thanks, petsmom. Yes, he is with me every day.

Beautiful fireplace. Your brother sounds like a wonderful person who loved his sister very much. What a treasure. I know you miss him. I bet you think of him every day. You can look around and see him everywhere. Love the heart shaped stone. Thanks for sharing, sue1.

I am in Palm Bay, near Melbourne. Happy to be here, now that Matthew has gone. Our county is Brevard on the East coast. Just below Volusia.

Hi Julie. I am in Leesburg, in Lake County. Where are you? I have met several of the Jigidis who live in Florida.

julie88

Sorry your brother passed away. I was just being silly. I live in central Florida too. Your brother did leave you a lovely unique, legacy.

When I came home from school that day, he showed me the heart stone....and about 2 dozen pieces of broken slabs. It took half the day to finally break one in the shape he wanted. He picked each stone and set it. Some have interesting veins of metal in them.

Hi Ardy, thank you. It is super special to me.

Hi Iris, yes...this was a "hurricane/insurance photo" from back in 2004 or so. I had just dashed around the house, documenting everything. I had saved some on my computer. I retook photos of the whole house last month, in front of Hurricane Matthew. But those are on a memory card in my safe deposit box. I probably should have loaded them on the computer first, but oh well.

Hi Julie, sorry, baby brother Bill passed away in 2001, seems like forever ago. He was single at the time, though.

sue1

HI Suzy, yes, he will always be with me, so many art pieces he made for me over the years.

Lovely! I like the bag of catfood in picture! Quite a few of those cat food bags here too. Grins!☺

You will always be surrounded by your brother.

This is the fireplace/stone heart I was talking about on that puzzle of my brother's art work.
