We had some wind and some rain here, but not as much of either as I expected. Lots of small tree debris in the front yard and lots of moss, but all was well. I had just had my pool screen enclosure replaced from a microburst of bad weather about 2 weeks earlier (expensive even with insurance) and was so worried that it would be ripped up again. But we were quite lucky.
Ah sue, I see you know the area. Lots of wooden fencing went down. I'm glad FEMA came into the area. Thankfully, my damage was minimal, but I have neighbors who weren't as lucky.
Julie, my daughter and granddaughter are in Rockledge and Titusville. My daughter lost some back yard fencing and some guttering to Matthew, but that last minute "wobble" sure made the difference. Glad you were safe.
Beautiful fireplace. Your brother sounds like a wonderful person who loved his sister very much. What a treasure. I know you miss him. I bet you think of him every day. You can look around and see him everywhere. Love the heart shaped stone. Thanks for sharing, sue1.
When I came home from school that day, he showed me the heart stone....and about 2 dozen pieces of broken slabs. It took half the day to finally break one in the shape he wanted. He picked each stone and set it. Some have interesting veins of metal in them.
Hi Iris, yes...this was a "hurricane/insurance photo" from back in 2004 or so. I had just dashed around the house, documenting everything. I had saved some on my computer. I retook photos of the whole house last month, in front of Hurricane Matthew. But those are on a memory card in my safe deposit box. I probably should have loaded them on the computer first, but oh well.
