Any misspelling or even a typo, would have made you the winner :-)
...so all I need is bad grammar and I'm in the running! "Them Gwillum Mc - - etc."
Oh darn, triple darn....Big Brother is reading over my shoulder :-)I forgot to go in stealth mode :-))))
I'm watching you -----grrr
So he was trying to mislead you? Now that's not nice, is it?
No Starlord, I am confusing you, Major Don said the Box Tops and it was that group that had already been posted, which prompted my winning statement :))
Unless my memory lets me down (happens sometimes) I don't think I ever posted a pic of Them, Lady C.So I'm afraid Major D's memory let him down :-)
Excellent. You nearly beat me there patsquire and, I wouldn't have won if the Major hadn't said it was a group that had already been posted :))))
Well, Patsquire. Them only has four letters...And you had the first three right with THE Gwillum etc etc :-)So that was pretty close, wasn't it? :-))))))
So when I started the guessing with my nonsensical "The Gwillum McGillicuddy Five-and-a-Half" why did you tell me I "have no idea how close" I was?I'm glad you can now tell the difference between my nonsense guesses and my (very rare) legitimate ones! ! !
Now THAT's an idea, Major D :-)
Brie - he ought to do a quiz, recognise the background? :)
Couple mor times, Froggy :-)Wow Brie. Recognizing a location by a lamp base. :-)
Now you have all gone to bed...they are standing on the Southbank of the River Thames in London, by what looks like the railway bridge crossing from Waterloo Station to Charing Cross- I recognised the lamp base and they are still there! (The lamp posts that is, not Them LOL!)
Now would I do that? lolI must learn to express myself more clearly in futureI must learn to express myself more clearly in futureI must learn to express myself more clearly in futureI must learn to express myself more clearly in futureI must learn to express myself more clearly in future . . . Here's another 5 to be going on with . . . phew . . . this is exhausting . . . ;D)Night night . . . :D
Glad you still remember the songs, Cevas :-) Another memory that is woken up :-)Froggy, come on, 47 times more (and no copy/paste -)Major D was kind enough to answer your question, Dodgeram :-)Major D, thanks for ansering Dodgeram's questionNighty night, Lady C and all the others
Oh is it that time already - cue harmonica time :))))Goodnight everyone ..... yawn ... morning Neville and Marge .............
Dodgeram - Van Morrison was the lead singer of Them - in the scruffy jacket, unable to play and instrument :)
starlord, were Them and Van Morrison the same people?
. . . I must learn to express myself more clearly in futureI must learn to express myself more clearly in futureI must learn to express myself more clearly in future . . . 47 to go and my arm is already aching . . . ;D)
Hi Starlord and Starlord fans! Yes, I remember Gloria and Here Comes the Night!! : )
No problem Froggy. The 50 lines are due tomorrow morning :-) And you surely didn't cause any upset. I just had a sleepless afternoon, that's all.@ Pk: :-)))))@ Brie: Really? Where was this picture taken? I have no idea
Oh well...not a clue as usual but I do know where they are standing! Yeah!
Oops . . . done it again . . . :D)Sorry Starlord, I wasn't questioning who it was just making a play on the word/name Them (as in LadyC's "but it does look like them"). There is no disputing that it is Them . . . :D)The 'getting fed up' remark was all the other mentions of them in the comments posted. I am always putting my foot in it and causing chaos and confusion all round . . . hope I didn't cause any upset. I shall hop off now and write 50 lines . . . "I must learn to express myself more clearly in future" . . . lol
I checked it and double checked it, Froggy and it came out as Them Van Morrison. And no, I'm never fed up with someone doubting itIf I'm wrong (happened before) I have no problem admitting it :-)Well, it's one way of winning, isn't it? I did like Aggie's story on Guess Who too :-)
Morning Aggie... Let's say Lady C won by mistake :-) She really didn't mean to.No glass slippers, Lady C. Thank goodness :-)
Hi everyone . . . I was going to ask if you are really sure it's Them but thought you might be getting fed up with all that so decided not to bother . . . oops, just did it . . . :D)Well done on your win LadyC . . . it doesn't matter how you got the answer and I think it gave us all a good chuckle . . . lol . . . cheers
Hi Aggie - I know, it was a good one this morning - I won by default but I was on the verge of discovering Them anyway, trust me. So thank you all for your kind comments, I shall accept the winners enclosure again today and order drinks all round :)))) Just ordinary glasses though and not fragrant little glass slippers to sip from. LOL
Cadell is on his way back, Neville...And I know, good bikes can cost thousands and thousands of dollars :-)I like the Tour as I understand it :-)
Greetings starlord, but you'll have to forgive me for not being a bicycle-enthusiast. It is not a Sport I follow, though my son (aged 38) is a keen bicycle rider, with a very expensive bike. I had never heard of Cadell-Evans prior to him winning the Tour de France. The race is highlighted on SBS-TV over here, which covers all aspects of the race in depth.
Just a matter of speech, Lady C.That's all there is to it :-)
Good evening Neville and Marge. In those days TV was not so common as it is nowadays. So the only images one saw came from magazines. And they don't stick in the memory, I'm afraid.Way to go Australia with Orica Greenedge (Australian team) in the Tour.Three quarters of a second to beat Omega Pharma Quickstep (Belgian team) over a distance of 25 km. Incredible. Unbelievable :-) But still well done.
What do you mean, more later than sooner - cheek !
Good morning all, from Nev & Marge in Australia. I was a bit late getting on tonight, but would not have known THEM from the picture. Huge congrats. to lady charnley for the big win tonight - must have been all the dusting of her statue that she did yesterday. We know Them very well over here, as G-L-O-R-I-A was monumentally huge here in 1965, together with Baby, Please Don't Go. And 'Here Comes the Night' followed on, three months later, in June '65.
A ricochet bullet that still hit the target that was, Lady C :-)Indeed you would have remembered.More later than sooner though :-)
Indeed, it's Van Morrison, Squish :-)Gloria goes back to 1964
Well I never - bit of a fluke that however, I dare say, I probably would have remembered them sooner or later LOL
Morning all - I had no idea, but the singer looked a bit like a young Van Morrison, so I checked this and found Them - well after ladyc got it. Well done ladyc!
Indeed it is :-)You said; but it does look like them doesn't it ?And that was the correct answer :-) I think some luck is involved here :-)But still, very well done. Applause is coming your wayEveryone knows Gloria (just about 5 feet 4, from her head to the ground)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FLvBpnaVHE8
it does look like them, oh it is
Oh - THEM
Lady C, just for the recordcould you repeat the answer one more time pls?
Oh, you have no idea then who they are? And I proclaimed you to be the winnerand you DID give the correct answer, Lady C
oh I get it...:)
Lady C gave the correct answer, Major DMaybe she can repeat it one more time :-)IF she's able to lol
I did ?
who is it then?
Crossed comments, Major D...Alas, Lady won today's contest
No Procol Harum nor Zombies, Lady C.But you are today's winner :-)))))
I don't know - I don't know what they look like. The name isn't 5 letters ending in ...on is it?
The Box Tops were on here back on 29th March Major - but it does look like them doesn't it ?
The Zombies ?
Procul Harem ?
I'm off for a doggywalk, will be AFK for some 15 mins
You're closing in on them, Lady C :-)

Morning Patsquire (forgot that) and Lady C.
Good morning back atcha Don.
Good morning Starlord and Starlord fans. McGillicuddy - LOL
