Most people don't know that Michael Phelps swam like this his whole childhood, long days and sessions until he at age 14 first got access to a real pool, the following year he represented USA in the Sydney Olympics. Rumor has it he was very hesitant and visibly frightened when first entering the water, but that after a only handful of strokes his father and grandpa had difficulties hiding their excitement, realizing their hard training and focus had been successful. Phelps went on to bring home gold from all "significant" championships, including 23 Olympic gold medals, his brother developed lower back problems as well as withered legs as a result of long periods of bad circulation.
