Saw the movie. I really like the Tucker car!!
Hi everyone, to answer your questions: The car is a 1948 the picture was taken in 2010 and yes there were 50 cars built, the car in the Ypsilanti Auto Museum, the correct name, is not a real Tucker but a movie prop, fiberglass body on a Ford Galaxy and regarding other Tuckers there are aprox. 20 still around. General comment: there has been more written about these 50 cars than any other words per car.
Right, there are about 50 of them all over the world. One is in Japan, one is at Stone Mountain GA, one is at Gilmore's Red Barns at Hickory corners in Kalamazoo, MI,, one is at Henry Ford Museum in Deerborn MI, one is in Museum in Tupelo, MS, One is in Harrah's Antique Car Museum in Reno NV, ...those are the ones that I have seen. Wish I owned one, but they are selling for about $1 Million now.
There is another Tucker in the Hudson Museum in Ypsilanti.
This must not be 1948 because there's a satellite dish on the neighbor's roof. It's a great puzzle though and his was a very interesting story of what should have been if the big boys hadn't felt threatened.
its a beauty!
