Why are you reporting this puzzle?

I think the blue jays are conspiring to knock off the poor little unaware starling. They're surrounding him, sneaking up on him from behind. The big bullies! The starling has a look on his face like, gee fellas, wut's goin' on?

Another great picture LJ. This must be your heated bird bath - your Jacuzzi for garden birds! No wonder they love your garden! We get starlings all year round here in England - and, yes, they are thorough pests. Like Wolflady, they will clean me out, but they can't balance on the feeders I hang in the trees. As long as they are not near branches where they can sit and just peck at the seeds in the feeder, then they don't get at it. They are argumentative, and I've seen them snatch the food out of eachother's beaks, the pesky things! Love the Blue Jays, though. I've never experienced them so am surprised they are bullies - if they can take on the starlings, good luck to them!

I think the jays may break into a rendition of "He had it comin' " aka the "cell block tango" from Chicago. ; )

Enjoyed the set, lj. Great shots. Sorry I don't have time tonight to comment on each of them.

Look, if you think the thing in the bottom is not dangerous then you take a drink big boy.

gnt1041

well the jay's are strong and don't put up with any other bird except maybe a cardinal

Great picture. Starlings are a menace, they come in flocks, and eat everything. They clean
me out when I have two suet cakes out there, a nut feeder, and all kinds of seeds. I am
so happy when they are gone in March. My Blue Jays are very timid, only see them a
couple of months out of the year. Thanks for the picture.

Another nice one Laura - thanks.

Those Blue Devils can work any bird away, with their ability to just keep picking away at it. Mr. Grackle is keeping out of it( hoping to come in and clean up if the chance occurs). They are pretty, though, those Blue Devils. nice photo Laura

laurajane

The blue chain gang is doing their dastardly deed, while the grackle in the background is ready with the getaway car.
