Either that or fighting Monica - one has his leg up! Thanks:))
Thanks Lorna - ours are at times too, especially at nesting time when they swoop!!

goingsilver

Great photo Rob. I concede they are beautiful looking birds, but they are also a pest in more ways than one!

mhughes69

Looks like their dancing! Great pic Rob, thanks! :))))

robryan

Thanks chookie, Ank & Gene - pleased that you liked them.
I'm liking the look of your Magpies Amazonia - ours are just black & white, and have a completely different head shape! Thanks for the info :))

Amazonia1805

Course, us geordies have a penchant for the magpie! Lol. ; )

Amazonia1805

You can't really tell the sex of uk magpies by their plumage as they're identical - male might be slightly bigger - the females are often the bossy ones! Lol. I have lots of them where I live, they come into the garden with the Jackdaws. Always in their "Sunday Best" with their funny strut/hop gait! the iridescent feathers are beautiful, blue with green/purple tones. They can make a din when being vocal! ; )

gnt1041

I can hear them yelling all the way here LOL

puzzeljac

Very beautiful

chookies

I think she's just telling him who's the boss!!!

robryan

Thanks Meadowhawk.

Meadowhawk

A very neat moment captured - quite the stance! :)

robryan

Yes - they're interesting aren't they? So different from any I've seen chickie.
LOL!! Thanks Trish :)))

trish505

looks like a couple of dudes out to impress the ladies, no holds barred. their ladies would never be so daringly dressed; they get more demure and muted tones. thanks robryan for never failing to impress!

chickiemama

Wow! I didn't know magpies had blue on them. They are beautiful!

robryan

I have no idea of the gender of them loveydear - the UK Magpies are totally different from ours here in OZ!
LOL!! He may be too PamCal - who knows :))

A lot I know about birds! I thought he was trying to "court' her.

loveydear

I'm sure you'll tell me it's two male birds instead of a male and female though.

robryan

LOL!! Or they're having a domestic loveydear!! There's that foot up to the chest of the other bird!!
One's definitely not too happy lyndee!

PLG1958

Fabulous photo! Thank you!

lyndee

And it looks like she doesn't want to learn!

loveydear

How wonderful, looks like he's trying to teach her a dance move!
