Hi Ank - Cicadas are not harmful to humans ( they may deafen you a bit with their loud call!) and only eat tree sap - so the only damage to plants and trees is scarring from where they pierce the plants to suck the sap.
Just love this comments, what kind of insect is it, is it damaging, for people or plant?
