A beautiful old building. Very sad that it's falling into disrepair.
Thank you, Ank! Such a sad old bank. I wish someone would come along and renovate it.
love it Laura, the tree shadow is nice.
Puzz...how did you know the streets this building is on???
Sheltering is such an important job. You not only meet the client's physical needs, but emotional, as well. That's great that you helped the children. There is much unseen trauma in those little ones. This Saturday, the prototype for the brand new ERV will be at our chapter to see and drive. Sweet!
During Katrina and Ike, I worked at a shelter receiving the evacuees as they came in and later working with and keeping an eye on the children at that shelter.
Tex, what was your area in disaster serivces? I am an ERV driver. I like the one-on-one with the clients. I also do sheltering and client casework...if I have to.
Yes, disaster, and I've also done local stuff helping place families after fires, etc. The biggest one I ever was involved with was Katrina and later on Ike. Heartbreaking.
This on Main and Monroe St.?
Tex, are you with Disaster Services or another department? I was deployed to Hurricane Isaac in Sept via Houston, then Orange, TX, then ended up in Baton Rouge, LA.
Nice photo, LJ. I didn't know you work at Red Cross. I volunteer here in Dallas. Great cause. Thanks, LJ, I love the Cardinals and Robins most of all.
It also is air conditioned. Needs a new roof and maybe windows and a general fixup.
Very interesting, laura!!
I guess that sorta explains why you seem to travel a lot.
No, I am not a paramedic. I work with the American Red Cross Disaster Services, morris.
I was just going to ask if you are a par medic? Were the people OK?
I just googled harvel, il abandoned buildings. Are you an insurance adjuster laurajane?
How did you find it, lyndee? Cool! Thank you. I was in Harvel Sunday and Monday responding to a house fire. Took this on the way home on Monday. The house was a total loss, absolutely burned and destroyed. So sad.

A Police station? That is a very nice old building. Nice find is right!
It looks like a train depot, but no tracks nearby. Nice find laura.
It looks stately so my guess is that is was a bank.
