Well, I'm certainly glad that you finally registered that it was me--humph......! LOL!

I appreciate all your good wishes and your friendship, and I am going to need both in the coming year, for sure...... I've never felt so uncertain about the future, never before felt that the fate of my country was hanging in the balance, was so precarious. And the comments of the Trump supporters on Jigidi really terrify me, reflecting, as they do, the man they elected. I'm sorry that I keep harping on it, but I really am not exaggerating my fear........

But having you here with me is indeed a relief, not just as an antidote to the stress, but as a positive source of fun and friendship and camaraderie! We're going to have a great year, damn it!

Happy 2017, Kirsten!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey suemarie, I just wanted to pop back and wish you all the best for 2017. I know you popped by to my HNY puzzle last night (my time), but I don't know where my brain was when I replied to you. I hardly even remember it, and it certainly didn't really register that it was YOU! So, now that my brain is fully engaged, I would like to wish you a good 2017. I know it's going to be tough on the political front. But I hope that on the health and home front, that it's a really good one for you. And that you can somehow use the love and friendship of others to block out the difficult times ahead. Okay. Maybe block out is too high a reach. What about relieve, ease, diminish? LOL Seriously, all the very best. And thanks for being in my Jigidi. ❤

I think they HAD to respond to your request about those comments. They were a clear breach of their guidelines. And in public view. They would have been seen as remiss to have not acted.

And I remember those "petition" puzzles about the timer!! So long ago. Yet also like it was yesterday. LOL I also remember that they said something like that technique would make them less likely to change it. But it could be worth a shot.........

Just for reminiscing:

Could be.... I just know that they did take care of what I asked them to. We could always do what we used to do--create a puzzle about the problem (like when the took away the time clock), and then we could use the @ with their name to make sure they see it! :-)))

RandomWorship

I know about the other way of contacting them - and (sadly) have had cause to use it on more times than I care to count!! But I have a theory that their fb users are more listened to. And it's public too, so have to be responded to.

suemarie

Actually, if you click on "contact" under the word Jigidi at the bottom of the page, there's both a Facebook contact and another one, which I used not too long ago--there was a puzzle where someone commented by calling me an f-ing c**t several times. I wanted to report them, not the puzzle, so I wrote to Jigidi using the option under Contact. They did get back to me by email, and they did remove the offensive comments. It took a few days, but they do read and respond....

RandomWorship

Times like this I wish I had facebook, so I could let them know. I think it's the only place for feedback to be heard and listened to................

suemarie

Yes!!!!!! LOL!!!!!!!!!

Oopsy. Sowwy. My bad. I used "corporate-speak" - CSR does stand for Corporate Social Responsibility, and is the term used to describe the programs where companies give back. And I agree about the colour!! Not to detract from the good work they are doing, but couldn't they have chose a colour distinctly different from the notifications alert? Or a different position for the CSR button? It's only been a few days and it's already driving me nuts, as I see the colour out of the corner of my eye and think it's my notifications going off. Grrrrrrrrr.

suemarie

I had to google CSR--they suggest it stands for Corporate Social Responsibility--so I'm assuming you mean the red puzzle piece that says We Support, the very same red puzzle piece that I keep seeing out of the corner of my eye that makes me think I've got a notification.....(couldn't they have used a different color?) LOL! Thanks--I'll take a look!

RandomWorship

Speaking of which, I'm not sure if you noticed the new thing on Jigidi - up in the top right corner, where they moved the link to their CSR information (it used to be in the blue banner at the bottom of the page). There are mostly like-minded individuals commenting there. Perhaps though, don't look at the older puzzles they posted last year. Amongst the like-minded individuals you will find some unlike-minded individuals!!

RandomWorship

Ahhhhh. To be amongst friends!! You need that right now! (❛ᴗ❛)

suemarie

LOL! Yes, I've been gorging myself on political cartoons lately--it's so nice to discover how many artists see the world, especially politics, the same way that I do, and what a relief it is to get to laugh rather than cry! I kept wishing that I could post more than 4, and then I remembered that I could!
:-))))))

RandomWorship

Oooh. You have a new profile! Followed!! (❛ᴗ❛)

suemarieredux

Ooooops--this got lost in the shuffle! I only found the comments now that I posted under this profile, and was notified that my alter-ego had puzzles.......Thanks, Kirsten, Ardy, and Francine! My daughter-in-law made an appetizer and a root vegetable casserole for Christmas, and I do keep the meals pretty simple--I'm not one to serve 5 appetizers, 4 vegetables courses, 3 main dishes, 2 desserts--and I've never served a partridge, in or out of a pear tree! LOL!

Loved the story of the plates--that's hilarious! :-))))))

bookish

I'm laughing. It's hilarious. Bring a plate! As Ardy, pot luck is what it's called here.
Sue, I got distracted reading everyone's comments. I love this photo of the two of you. That's a great app. Am looking forward to seeing you as the Easter bunny.

RandomWorship

LOL! I didn't know that "bring a plate" wasn't a universal term for "bring a dish". How hilarious, Ardy. I'm thinking that the congregation must have been metaphorically scratching their heads and thinking "what does he need all those plates for?". And the look on his face when he saw all the (empty) plates would have been priceless! (❛ᴗ❛)

ringleader

I've been lurking and enjoying this conversation. I must relate an incident relative to "bring a plate." A young Australian minister and his wife ended up in the US. She is a friend of mine and told me this story. Here if there is going to be a pot luck meal (as we call it) the instructions are usually to bring food to pass. So at their first church he, the minister, announced there would be a meal after a particular service and for everyone to "bring a plate." And everyone did - no food, Just a plate!!!

RandomWorship

The idea of a shorts-wearing tree made me snort with laughter!! And could you make your Christmas meal a "bring a plate" event? That's what we do. And usually the guests bring more than one. Like me. I brought three!! I think the hosts do enough by providing the house - and all the pre-work that comes along with that like extra cleaning etc. (❛ᴗ❛)

suemarie

I'm not fond of the heat, but I'm REALLY not fond of humidity! This is the one time of year I'll happily take being in a higher latitude of the Northern Hemisphere--I think it would be hard to sing about White Christmases and Sleigh Bells Ringing while decorating a tree wearing shorts (me, not the tree) and cranking up the A/C......
One good part of hosting these dinners is that I don't have to drive the 3 1/2 - 4 hrs. (actually took my kids more like 5-6 because of holiday traffic) to Massachusetts. Of course, the shopping, cooking, and cleaning took way more than that, but.......sigh...... I have to admit that I'm really tired of being the one to do it. I started soon after I married, and now I'm 70 and STILL the one hosting most holidays.....then again, I'm grateful that I have someone to celebrate with, because all our aunts and uncles (and parents) are gone now.......

RandomWorship

True. In order to be a supportive and non-judgemental mother, you will just have to wear your facial hair. Out and proud!! LOL!!

And I'm happy to hear you had such a lovely day. Actually, festival from the sounds of it! Definitely time for rest. And yep, I had a lovely Christmas day with my family, but it was 37C/99F!! Wilt. And then yesterday, we had a family lunch at my aunt and uncle's place in the country. It was wonderful to see everyone. But it was a looooong day. A 350 kilometre/220 mile round trip and about 4 hours of driving. So I'm enjoying a "rest day" today, with slightly cooler weather. It will "only" get to 31C/88F today. But is going to be extremely humid after getting rain yesterday. So it will probably feel like 35C/95F. More wilting!! LOL (❛ᴗ❛)

suemarie

But if I made that appointment, Kirsten, wouldn't my daughter think it was a veiled comment about her need to do something about her antlers and velvety ears?! Fat-shaming is bad enough, but antler-shaming is beyond the pale for a loving mother ..........

Yes, we had a very nice day, with her, and with our son, daughter-in-law, and grandson, all down from Massachusetts and over to our house. I also made Christmas Eve dinner for them all--and Thanksgiving.......time for a break now! I hope your day was a good one as well--I'm sure it was warmer! :-)))

RandomWorship

Fantastic photo, suemarie! But, ummmmmm, could be time for a visit to your local beautician for a laser or waxing appointment methinks! LOL! (~ᴗ❛)

Seriously - I hope you had a lovely day with your family. (❛ᴗ❛)

We sometimes get surprising insights into ourselves with photos, Sue. ☺

suemarie

Thanks, Ardy. I can't believe how much I look like my father here! I always resembled him much more than I did my mother (especially the shape and color of my eyes, their setting, and my nose--we both have/had tipped-up noses, while my mother had a long, straight one), but with this phone app, I now have his beard and mustache as well, and the result really took me aback..... :-)

ringleader

LOL Sue. Beautiful reindeer. Thanks.
