Thank you, Roseheather. I guess you'd really have to know what you were doing if you wanted to convert a silo into something else then, to make it safe.
Thanks, Oddio. Why didn't they think of that???!!! (I guess neither one of us win the gold for speed!)
Another case where a little duck tape coulda saved the day...
(Patti, your time is like mine only the numbers are reversed!)
Silo construction is very sturdy. I don't know about making a cottage from one. I do know that silos can be very hazardous for farmers when they are filling them. There have been accidental asphyxiations, for famers, from the gases produced by the fermenting forage that is put into silos.
Those blue Harveststore silos, which dot the rural landscape, will be there forever. I think the material for those are ceramic tile, but I am not sure.
Thank you, Shirley and Healer. :)
There she stands tall and strong, great photo Patti, Thanks.
Thanks, Morris. With that many years left, might as well use it for something!
That is what I would do, plg. Those old silos are very solid. Will be there another 150 years.
Thank you, one and all, for your comments. When everything else is done, I wonder what one could do with the leftover silo??? Make a cottage out of it???
oh oh oeps
Oops!!! Hang in there!
Thanks for sharing it Patti!!! Yep, the silo lives for yet another day :-)
Collapsed more like it. Great picture Patti
Nice shot PLG. It seems like the silos always win.
Just a tad run down.
