Why are you reporting this puzzle?

"Reddit user buildingsonfire shared this quirky photo last week of his dad’s bowling ball pyramid made from 1,785 bowling balls that he has collected over the last 15 years.
Obviously many users’ first question was, why? Quite simply, why not? He says his parents saw a picture of a bowling ball pyramid in 2001 and decided to make one for themselves.
The balls themselves are stacked (no glue or epoxy used) however his dad did build a concrete base to exact dimensions to insure a ‘snug’ fit. Most of the balls were donated, others are decommissioned balls from bowling alleys and others are surplus military bowling balls from nearby bases.
For more information you can see the original post on reddit." (http://twistedsifter.com/2016/08/bowling-ball-pyramid-reddit/)

But what does he do now that he's built the mountain and climbed it?

One step and . . . .

Bill_I_Am

Gumballs would take less space and effort, but I guess they would be harder to show off. Fun one to solve--thanks, Pat!

patw

I'm glad you had fun with this one, guys!

I dunno, Gayle. I seem to remember using the red ones when I was a kid and we went bowling on a rainy Saturday. I used to go around looking for a red one because it was generally lighter that the adult orbs (13-16 lbs.) BTW, at an average weight of 14 pounds per ball, that pyramid weighs about 25,000 pounds. I hope that's reinforced concrete in the base! I wonder if he plans on 'going pharaoh' when he passes on and uses it as his tomb ;-) Thanks Pat!

Bommom

Well, of course!!! I can see I have some catching up to do, I haven't even collected my first bowling ball. The surplus military bowling balls must be the blah, red ones.
