While I was still wondering how and when the young storks would ever understand they were supposed to return to the nest at some time, one of them just took to its wings and did it!

Piet seems to be as much caught by surprise as I was, and ducks his head!

Ja, ze staan voor het grote avontuur... onvoorstelbaar dat ze over een paar maanden over heel Europa, de Middellandse Zee en Afrika vliegen... 't Begon met 2 Anne, en nu is 't nest te klein... dat krijg je ervan...

Wanneer zullen ze uitvliegen, ze lijken me al heel groot en bijna volwassen. Ik heb er nog nooit zoveel bij elkaar gezien;-)))

Er... maybe I tilted my camera a bit, Pat... Then again, if it should really be tilting, I'm sure it will be fixed, the storks and their nest are cherished :-)

Looks like the nest pole is starting to tilt a bit too. :)

I guess adults and juveniles alike must get used to the new situation, janet & jyl... I really think I witnessed one of the very first times they left the nest... and the nest has become a little cramped with all those big birds. Hugs to you both :-)
