I have done both in the past. We are gone so often it is hard to keep them properly watered in the pots, but if you put them in the ground it is difficult in the fall trying to separate them without pulling all the roots off. I have them in several large plastic window box type containers which I put partly in the ground after they bloom inside. (I am in Wisconsin, so have to wait for warm weather.)
Beautiful! Do you plant them outside or in pots?
