thank you sybillk. I am afraid I am not a good photographer. This pic was taken from the net. You can find more pictures on the net under Pakistani truck art.

I just found your Pakistani Truck Art puzzles, posted in april 2016,and want to tell you how fantastic I thought they were, Thank you very much for showing! Might we be getting more sometime?

oldiepumpkin

Thank you Dixie gal. Sorry for the late reply, did not visit my site for some time. Yes these trucks are seen in the Indian subcontinent, Northern India, Pakistan and Afghanistan. There is quite a buzz these days about truck art. It gives a nice splash of color to a grey landscape,

Thank you, Magda, for this pretty truck. It's so interesting. We don't see anything like this in America as far as I know. I wish you well and I do hope you can stay cool.

madpol

No, but letting someone know what is going on, isn't complaining. Maybe you are complaining to your children and/or grandchildren, I don't know, but not to us :-)) Please, keep us informed :-) ♥

oldiepumpkin

Thank you Maddie and Francine for your wishes. Well I am just a cranky old woman always complaining. After all I have gone through this before, without AC, only then I was a few years younger (40 to 50, hehe) I will b e ok, and complaining does not help.

Much more interesting than a plain truck/van. Magda, good to see you posting. Stay well and when possible, cool.

madpol

Till September..... Boy, I feel sorry for you, I know it would be very difficult for me too, but I think it is great that you can write about it with humor !! I would get cranky, very very cranky.... :-)))

oldiepumpkin

Like psychedelic beatles!! Thanks for your comment. often go on jigidi, just before I sleep , when the AC is working.
Today I asked a Karachi-ite, if it was going to be so hot all year round. So he assured me: Oh no, ONLY upto September. baaaah, See you then, if I survive.

madpol

Magda, I didn't know you were posting again too :-))))) I'm glad about that.
I love this kind of trucks too, they make the roads more interesting.. I have often wondered why cars look so boring.. They could be so much more fun to look at :-)) Like this one, it is beautiful !!

oldiepumpkin

Kirsten, thanks for your comment. This one is really beautiful, There is of course a lot of "kitch" in these paintings. But it is amazing how much beauty there 8is, taking into account the painters lack of education or formal training.
Yes I am fine, but the temp. is in the high 30ies, which exhausts me. Nights we have ACs of course. Not very good for the planet, but good for my health. LOL.

oldiepumpkin

djp, yes I agree, and sometimes they fall down as well.

oldiepumpkin

Thank you Judymack for your comment.Yes, I once drove in a bus from one mountain valley to another, No guardrails, and when the vehicles crossed,, you had the feeling to hang in the air, on the very brink of the abyss. We had a beautiful view on the Karakorum mountains, but my cousin kept her eyes closed. Interesting journey, LOL.

I love these painted trucks and buses Magda!! Thanks for bringing them to Jigidi. And I hope things are going well there. (❛ᴗ❛)

Pakistani style, and often way over loaded!!

Watched a show on Discovery a few years back that was an off shoot from Ice Road Truckers where they went to India to drive trucks just like this one! The trailer part is made of wood and very flimsy and theirs roads are so narrow it is insane! Drops of 1,000 feet straight down, no guard rails and no place to pull over as the mountain goes straight up on the other side! I know there isn't enough money in the world to make me drive there.
