There's no hurry Judy - Uncle BB isn't going anywhere... he's waiting for the mittens!!! :~)
Mandy, thanks for letting me know about Uncle BB, but I'm utterly exhausted, so perhaps another day. Congrats on this great puzz and the many comments! Talk to you later.
Well, Mandy - 'the big grin' effect is there, even every time I see the thumbnail.PJ
LOL PJ - a big grin is the hoped for effect!! I don't have ET here, and must confess that I never even watched the movie :~)
Wonderful Mandy - you put a big grin on my face, the puzzle is lovely and your imagination is sky rocketing. I have honestly knitted several mittens, quite normal over here - do you have E.T. dwelling with you - he could have altered the pattern? Just for fun...PJ
It does sound a lot ... I am sure I have met over 500 people, and never met anyone with polydactly!! Although I've mostly met people in Europe, and the incidence is higher in Africa... so maybe I should move to Africa and then my chance of meeting one would be higher.
This sounds like an exaggeration though-"The condition has an incidence of 1 in every 500 live births."
Gosh, thanks Dagmar - what a lovely comment - and I have pleasure just knowing other people enjoy the results of my playtime!!!
Hi Judy - I never saw Princess Bride - perhaps I should seek it out, I cannot take the credit for designing gloves for villains though :~) I suggest you check out Uncle Bluebottle's profile and you can find out more about any Twilight Zone!! You may be amazed at the world within a world - be warned it could take you a while :~)))
Yes lela - both! :~)
I love your wonderful imagination, Mandy, it is always a pleasure to come round here and see all the new ideas you have come up with. :)) Thanks for some morning fun. :))
Mandy, I saw this picture and just knew it was yours. How funny can you get? Did you ever see the movie, "Princess Bride"? Very funny, and the villain has 6 fingers. He has special gloves for them. Perhaps you designed them? Of course this was looooong ago. I think Uncle Bluebottle will be happy. When he commented, I thought he'd conjured up the uncle, but then he appeared! Is this the Twilight Zone????
Yes, they'd eat the mittens two, too, also, as well......
Very happy to help, sir!! You might be wise to notify the Bugosi carrier pigeons that a snail is traversing their route... I would hate for my snail to become their lunch!!!
Oh, you are so kind!.........I shall expect them some time next year......
Errrr, Jan there is nothing wrong with your eyes.... the pattern went wrong, and I didn't expect 7 fingers, or even 6 fingers and a thumb. However, I think I have found a taker for these in Uncle Bluebottle. Shhhh, don't tell the turkeys about the tailfeathers!! LOL :~)
Sorry lela... I'm not certain which is the right?? My snail says he's quite happy to bring you both and then Uncle Bluebottle can try them for size - he's going to set off in the morning, I'm not sure how long snail mail takes these days... expect it when you see it!!!
I count 7 fingers. Is something wrong with my eyesight? I also see 2 turkey tailfeathers, so maybe so! GREAT puzzle, Mandy! Thanks!
Well, if they're like this, I suppose just the right one would do........
Does he need a couple of mittens, Lela???
Uncle Bluebottle is half-polydactly........his right hand........(just thought I'd mention it).......
Well Pat - I must be older than I thought if that fashion has been and gone and now returned!!! LOL!!
Oh, they still are in style--my very hip daughter has a pair! (Of course, hers have only 5 toes per sock...). :-)))
Thanks 2dogs7cats - I hope your cat was friendly, I can't imagine the damage it could have done with that many additional claws!!!Well Pat, I could try to adapt my mitten pattern to socks... although I'm not sure that toe socks are still fashionable.. I do remember having some when I was younger.... in rainbow colours!!! Thanks for letting me know you enjoyed this one :~)It makes me happy to bring fun into your life Katie... may you have lots more :~)
Funny and fun Mandy!
My friend's daughter has six toes on each foot--perhaps I could commission you to knit some socks for her?! LOL! Great idea, and fun to solve! :-)))
These would have been perfect for a polydactly cat I had years ago with 7 toes on each foot.
Thanks Wendy - amazingly there are lots of people born with additional digits...I just looked it up... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PolydactylyOnce again Jigidi has expanded my education :~)
I LOVE the idea of this AND the title, and the placement of the mittens, and the colors. On a side note, I'm sure there are a few people with six fingers on each hand.
