Hope the bottles are in your treasure box gemstone! The lady who owns the cottage we stayed in works at the distillery as a tour guide. We hope to go back as soon as possible, loved the Isle of Arran.
I mentioned to your mum that when the distillery was being set up we were bond holders. Instead of receiving stocks or dividends we received the very first bottles of both blended and single malt to be distilled. So naturally, when we visited in '02 we toured "OUR" distillery! lol
What a coincidence! We were just 1 min walk up the road, castle direction, in a cottage called The Old Anchorage. That pub has an amazing collection of whisky, including their own barrel from the distillery at £5 a shot. Graham sampled liberally. Graham's been invited back to fell some trees!
Thanks Nova. Had to make him a soft collar from an old blanket as he was losing hair from his throat from the leather one chaffing. Our cottage looked out onto the castle.
